WE ARE ON A MISSION TO RAISE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

Mental health is very overlooked. Far too many people don't think mental health is as serious as it actually is.

Many of us are going through life doing the best that we possibly can but feel very lost in the process. We have no idea what we want to do with our lives: our parents tell us one thing and friends say another. What should we really do and to whom should we listen? 

Being pulled in multiple directions gives us feelings of depression, sadness, loneliness and stress. We then feel lost, alone and like we are the only one going through this vicious cycle. 

We are all misled by social media looking at all these "perfect" lives. Whether it's the Kim K. look, fancy cars or luxurious homes--it's all just commercialized fantasy. When we compare ourselves to these carefully constructed images we feel we are falling short of where we "should" be. This makes us look down on ourselves and gives us feelings of depression and extreme sadness.

You have a to-do list that is way too big and try to check things off the list that don’t really impact your life. Ease your stress by focusing on what really matters, focus on yourself.

We want everyone to have the greatest life possible. We know it sucks feeling like you are being pulled down and like no one cares about you. From experience we believe the best way to ease the way you are feeling is through physical activity, moving around and bringing back the life things in life you used to enjoy the most.

It may sound tough for some and too simple for others but being active is the best thing you can do for your mental health.

Hang out with friends, go to sporting events, do the least stressful things possible. Explore the world you live in. Stop staring down at your phone while you are walking and look around you. Look at how lucky you are to even be on this planet. As tough as it may be to think that you are lucky, remember that you have clean drinking water, clothes on your body, education and people who really do care for you.

It is scientifically proven that physical activity is the best way to make yourself feel better. We want you to be the best that you can with what you have been given.

Depression

Depression is not a joke! 20-25% of women and 12% of men will experience a serious depression at least once in their life. 

Depression can affect those of all ages. It can affect the mind, body and spirit. Depression can make people feel so down that they commit suicide!

Men are less likely to acknowledge the symptoms and are more apt to surpress their feelings through the use of alcohol. Women are more prone to depression because of the possible effects of hormones. 

Anxiety

Anxiety is a  term for several disorders that cause nervousness, fear and worrying. 

The majority of the population usually suffers from some sort of anxiety throughout their life. 

There are many different factors that can cause anxiety. Stress at work, stress at home, bad relationships, financial stress, abuse and much more! 

Did you know 25% of Canadians suffer from some sort of anxiety? 

Stress

Most of us have so much going on in our lives and get so overwhelmed that it causes some sort of stress. When we carry heavy loads of stress this can lead to extreme sadness and depression. 

There are many different causes of stress. Uncertainty, family problems, lack of money and bad relationships are just a few! We need to sit back and list out our priorities and get one thing done at a time so we can effectively deal with the healthy stress in our lives, and avoid the unhealthy stress.

Symptoms of stress may include sweating, back pain, chest pain, difficulty sleeping, muscle aches and much more!
